Angeline M. Boeckman 89, of Tripoli, died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Tripoli Nursing and Rehab.
Funeral Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Grace Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Rettig Funeral Home in Tripoli and for one hour preceding services on Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to the family to be directed to a charity of their choice.
Angeline Marie, daughter of Harry and Marie (Hahn) Wilhelms, was born, December 5, 1925, in New Hampton. She was baptized at a Lutheran Church in New Hampton and was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli. She received her education in the Tripoli Schools. In 1948, she was united in marriage with Lavern Boeckman at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple would later divorce. Angeline worked at Kramer Crittenden Produce and Panzer’s Produce. She worked at Stanley Home Products for more than fifty years and the Tripoli Café for more than twenty-five. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary for twenty-two years and served as president of the organization. Angeline was very well known for her preparing of the turtle feed for the annual festival in Tripoli, which she did for over fifty years. She was very active at Grace Lutheran Church, where she was a life long member. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, camping, and spending time with her family and long time companion, John Popes.
She is survived by her four children, Junior (Marlene) Boeckman of Waverly, Judy (Daryl) Copp of Hawkeye, Jana (Steve) Hahn of Tripoli, and Jackie (Mark) Smith of Burnsville, Minnesota; eleven grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Angeline was preceded in death by, John Popes, and her beloved cat, Tinker.
